Trapped in a cell of embedded hardscrable
Maltreated by the warders of corruption
Hope bleeds - dreams stinks - reality demoralized
They yet peep to view greener pastures ahead

A journey through brown sands
And Arid Air and deep stenches
With each step, sinking into the ground
But the hope for a brighter morrow fuels you

Traveling via the pathway to realized dreamt dreams
Via the fierce punches of the heated desert
Lifeless bodies and skeletons beautify the earth
Dreams halfway realized - true dreams unrealized

I shrugged at the gory sight of bones
For they were sojourners like me
They died unfulfilled and bitter
For their country and leaders betrayed them

Many potentials and credentials exported via the desert's heart
From lands where great dreams become beautiful illusion
Hunger, thirst and death strike on the way
Lo, the land of hope has been hopeless

We press forward into a land unknown
What our fate would be, it's in Oblivion
Through numerous days of travails
We seek to prosper in a foreign land

Mama Africa, parasitic gluttons have suckled you dry
Yet in hope a brighter morrow for you
We traverse afar to make you proud
And be the remedy we all seek foe
