The Stars Were Falling.. Dusmanta Choudhury
Once upon a time
I had a blissful night
A deep slumber's chain
Had chained me tight
I dreamt of a beautiful dream
A bright light came into my room
Along with a God or angel
In smokey foam I did assume
Wake me up from my slumber
I rubbed my eyes to see
A visible spirit, I sensed
Took me out ,with him to be
I walked by him in deep sober
What a surprise, I did behold
Some stars were falling down
Tears fell, they couldn't hold
The heavenly born also suffered
And I begged to know the cause
The angel replied in low,
"They enjoy the fruit of their deed as
All are, what they do
Either of sin or of religion
And earn their real wealth
The fruit of their own action
I have equal love for all
But they suffer when wealth over
Instead of adding by good deed
Consume from the past store
Good actions, to divine wealth, add
Bad actions, being sinful, reduce
I only view, their actions judge
Here stars suffered, act did induce
Oh dear son, I did here unclose
The true fruit of the action
The causes of the pains
Of all the celestials, ever born"
My rapture crossed the bound
That needs no mention
As if my long striven yearning
Overate with well-up pulsation
At this, I bowed and did bescease
To judge my all earthly action
Assumptive be thy causative act
I would dearly covet, thy abstraction
