AN EVENING HOUR.. Dr Jahangir Alam Rustom

When the reddish sun blooms
At the evening hour,
Gleaming red shine flickers
Just before the moon and star appear.
Birds chirp to celebrate their nest,
Nocturnal animals go out
Who stays in the day’s breast.
Intoxicated insects chime and dance
In reddish light on an open space!
The evening hour, an enjoyable time
All rejoice in embrace.

Dusk emanates as a boon
Adds beauty and splendour to nature;
As the day light goes off
As if it is the last and only hour.
The drowsy sun goes to sleep
At the earth’s breast;
When the dark comes down,
The exhausted sun wears a night vest.
The reddish light of the falling sun
That illuminates the earth,
Passionate mind gets intoxicated
Those get into new birth.

A loving mind becomes passionate
To enjoy the moment;
As heavenly bliss blooms on earth
With the exclusive event.
A bereaved lover finds his love
In the flush light of the evening hour,
With the heart he feels only that
When it blows as fresh air.
What a charming moment!
A sweet blanket of darkness!
All things found lucrative and pretty
Before diminishing their glaze.
