I am a Poet Transitory.. Dr. Mirza Sibtain Beg

 

I am a poet transitory,
Ephemeral is life’s vagary,
Short is youth’s trajectory,
Fragile is existence’ territory.
I am a poet transitory,
Caravan of poets preceded me with their poetry,
Plied betwixt earth and heaven weaving filigree,
Scattered petals of poesy with melodious tapestry,
I will too vanish with rhyme and rhythm stationary.
I am a poet transitory,
Better poets will replace me with new imagination,
Will pick blooming buds to nestle lyrical narration,
They will fill world with rapturous rear in rotation,
They will keep singing songs with ceaseless volition.
I am a poet transitory,
I will take rest in corner of forgettable pantheon,
People will forget me as to busy enjoy new dawn,
Why they may reminisce twilight of days bygone,
Poetry will always stir hearts with melody halcyon.
I am a poet transitory.
