RAIN FED RIVER.. Moitreyee Raju

 

I borrowed a little calm
from the tranquil twilight sky today,
but it wasn't plenteous;
For my restless heart
was in the look out for
something else, someplace else,
or was it for that somebody else?

I know I know,
the blue black firmament
will soon adorn the colours of the sun,
and then perhaps
my heart will be rest assured.
So I waited
drinking the honeyed expectation
for a while.

A change in mood is about to happen,
the twilight sky will soon lose its ambience!
But not before long
my eyes were struck
by the drama unfolding;
Or was it a scaffolding of melodrama,
I couldn't say!

'Cause deep dark dense clouds
heaving with secretive truths,
gathered above from the four corners of the world
well prepared to release a deluge of emotions.
The restless me
for once became one
with the restlessness of the sky!
My heart joyously leaped
as it inhaled the occult aroma
of the drizzling sentiments
that the sky so gently unleashed.

Oh rain!
You fall like my emotions,
your every drop beacons
my senses of every seasons;
I am appalled
to see you fall
with that wondrous vigorous drawl;
Take me in your arms
and cover me with your acoustic balm;
Transport me to that insane sphere of your heart;
This world has left me unbearably breathless,
I'm worn out of being that thorn bird
in this world so heartless.

Drench me, make me lose my sanity
within the soothing creases of your insanity;
I ache to feel like a feather
soft, light and feathery feather
that stays afloat obliviously on your water
It's a state I'd love to remain forever,
it's a state, I get to see my lover.

My love's waiting on the other side of you;
Will you not carry me to him O' rain?
He comes always at these times.
A mere handful of love
is what I need from him
to appease my restless heart!
Carry me to him O' rain,
he's distinguishable easily recognizable
he's the rain fed river
that comes and goes with you forever!
