The Day I Came To The Earth.. Dr.Okram Shakuntala
I adore thee, oh day !
The seventeenth September
The most pious and auspicious
On this day,
I was destined
To touch the mother earth
From the womb of my mother
The living goddess
For me for this birth
And I think, for all births
I was born on this earth
I am highly indebted
To the noble soul
My biological mother
Who gave me life and blood
On this very day
As auspicious as divine
As auspicious as pious
To love and to be loved
For this very auspicious day
I have got the dearest ones
On this earth
For this very birth
Hence, once again
And again and again
I humbly adore
The day of Seventeenth September
On which auspicious day
I am fortunate enough
To touch the mother earth
And found place
In many a heart
