My Allah, only You know
how longing for him tears the soul
and how every sigh suffocates me.
As the nights are infinitely long,
how my whole world is collapsing.
Only You know the Lord,
because when I shed tears at night.
Whom I call in the early morning,
for whom I pray to You every night.
Merciful, You are my witness,
that I don't want anyone else by my side.
My love is like a mountain stream,
only for him do I pray to You.
In your name I love him,
in every prayer is his name.
So therefore Exalted I beseech Thee
to turn our winters into spring.
