A decade since you left (Mama).. John King Ayanfe

Author: John King Ayanfe ©

Dream mirrored a wavy hand in distance
All adorned in silhouette's reflexes
My instinct fathomed, I wasn't skeptical
Tears drummed escaped waters

The angel whose breasts I suckled
Traveled via the horizon ascending the skies
Ten years today, she retuned to her creator
My heroine departed without a ta-ta

Mother, you're more than a mother to me
You could sacrifice your life for mine
You saw the future I wasn't seeing
Thence, you structured me for challenges and victory

You gave everything to brighten my days
My best friend, a decade without you is unbelievable
All the wordy-flowers you planted in me blossom
They yield incalculable yields to myself and humanity

Though, you may be gone - you're alive
Your didactic teachings are angelic to my paths
And I'll keep the lights on to make you proud
Enjoy your peaceful rest; sing on with the saints
